(A1) - An unlocking code is a series of characters and/or numbers which can be keyed into your mobile phone via the phones keypad to remove the network restriction allowing the use of other network Sim cards that you choose.

(A2) - Choice, with your mobile phone unlocked, you can choose which network and tariff you want to use to get the best value! Another advantage is that the value of your handset could increase. Mobile phones which are unlocked tend to have a better second-hand value.

(Q3) - Are unlocking codes safe to use?     {Back to top ↑}

(A3) - Removing the network restriction on your mobile phone with unlocking codes is by far the safest form of unlocking your handset available, as there is no cables or flashing software involved in the process. Simply enter the necessary codes directly into your mobile phone via the phones keypad to remove the network restriction.

(A4) - We use only the latest software and hardware to generate these unlock codes. Both the software and hardware used are frequently updated to make sure that the correct unlock codes are generated for your mobile phone. The codes are calculated using the information you provide to us on our secure order form.

(A5) - unlox.co.uk will display/email unlocking codes along with detailed instructions on how to enter the codes. In some circumstances we will display/email just one code as that is all that is needed.

(Q6) - What if I have tried to unlock my phone by code before?     {Back to top ↑}

(A6) - If you have ever attempted to unlock your phone in the past, our codes may not unlock your mobile phone. unlox.co.uk advises all customers that they should not order unlocking codes if the phone has been subject to previous unlocking attempts.

(Q7) - Do I have to enter more than 1 code?     {Back to top ↑}

(A7) - Most of the time, just one of the codes will be needed to unlock your mobile phone. However there may be occasions when entering multiple codes are required. Full details will be sent with your unlock codes by email.

(Q8) - Should I be cautious about giving unlox.co.uk my IMEI number?     {Back to top ↑}

(A8) - Your IMEI number is unique to your mobile phone; no other mobile phone has the same IMEI number. However, this number has nothing to do with your phone network account or your network SIM card. Therefore, you can be safe in the knowledge that there is nothing more we can do with your IMEI number, apart from generate your unlock codes.

(Q9) - Why is it that unlox.co.uk only charge as little as £0.99 when most are charging much more?     {Back to top ↑}

(A9) - Some customers have suggested that our current price is one of the lowest, while other have suggested that we charge too much. When you consider the service we offer and the available support we believe that our prices are just the right price, add to that the fact that all handsets are charged equally New or Old.

(Q10) - Is unlocking my mobile phone illegal?     {Back to top ↑}

(A10) - Unlocking a mobile phone so that it will accept a SIM card from any network is NOT illegal in the United Kingdom and many other countries worldwide. All mobile phones are manufactured to accept any SIM card. The 'Simlock' which is placed on a mobile phone is added by the networks to try and prevent you from using the phone on a competing network. 'Unlocking' resets this simlock to the manufacturer default of 'off', there by allowing the use of a SIM card from another network of your choice. (Q11) - What About unlocking Contract Phones?     {Back to top ↑}

(A11) - If you obtained your mobile phone on a network contract, you should remember that the handset still belongs to the network until you have completed your contracted term. Unlocking your phone while under contract may be in breach of your contract. You may wish to check your contract to see if unlocking is prohibited before purchasing unlocking codes.

(Q12) - Will Unlocking my mobile phone affect my warranty?     {Back to top ↑}

(A12) - Your warranty only remains valid when the item has been used in accordance with it's specified purpose, and not altered or modified in any way. Unlocking your phone could be deemed as an alteration or modification.

(Q13) - What will happen when I enter the unlock codes?     {Back to top ↑}

(A13) - You will enter the unlock codes and the phone will display a message. This message will determine whether the unlock has been successful or not.

(Q14) - How many times can I enter the unlock codes?     {Back to top ↑}

(A14) - Most mobile phones will allow at least 3 attempts to unlock using this method. If you fail to adhere to the above this method of unlocking your mobile phone will become unavailable, and you will need to have the phone unlocked using a cable solution from a local mobile phone store.

(Q15) - What happens if none of the unlock codes work?     {Back to top ↑}

(A15) - If all attempts to enter your codes fail, send us an email giving details of the messages which appeared on your mobile phone screen after you entered the last #. If it is necessary, and depending on further information, unlox.co.uk may generate more codes for your mobile phone and send them to you via e-mail.

(Q16) - What happens if I have not followed the procedure correctly for entering the unlock codes?     {Back to top ↑}

(A16) - If you do not enter the unlock codes correctly, the handset will not unlock. This is why it is most important that you follow our instructions EXACTLY as detailed! We cannot accept responsibility for any phones which are damaged or suffer loss of service due to an incorrect unlocking procedure!

(Q17) - What happens if the codes don't work the second time?     {Back to top ↑}

(A17) - If the information you provided when ordering is correct, and you have followed our instructions exactly, and the phones software or IMEI have never been changed, there is no reason the unlock codes would not work. Your codes are generated using a 100% reliable method. It is impossible for the codes to fail unless the information submitted when ordered is incorrect, the procedure is not followed to the letter, or the phones software or IMEI has been changed!

(Q18) - What happens if I send unlox.co.uk the details of a stolen, blocked, blacklisted or barred phone?     {Back to top ↑}

(A18) - The chances are that the phone may become completely un-useable after entering the codes. We cannot accept any responsibility for damage or loss of service on a phone which is stolen, blocked, blacklisted or barred!

(A20) - We can only provide unlock codes for the handsets displayed on our Supported Phones page. We do however suggest that you visit our Postal Unlocking page if you require another brand unlocking.

(Q21) - Do unlox.co.uk offer any kind of technical service, advice?     {Back to top ↑}

(A21) - Obviously, if there has been a problem unlocking your mobile phone using the unlock codes we provide, we will endeavor to solve the problem to the best of our ability where we can. However, we cannot provide any kind of technical advice related to any matter other than unlocking your mobile phone with our unlock codes.
